Ana sayfa / Social Media

Elon Musk has said he will wage war on spam and bot accounts on Twitter during the acquisition period. While he did not explain how he would do this, we know that many social media platforms have authentication requirements. Currently limited authentication on Twitter may be expanding with Musk’s decision.

Twitter will ID authenticate for Blue subscriptions

Twitter (or X as it is now known) has started asking users for their credentials. According to screenshots shared by a user, X has introduced a new verification process that requires Blue (or X Premium) users to submit identification and selfies.

The platform’s decision comes after every user received a blue tick with their Blue subscription. Accounts impersonating real people caused chaos on the platform some time ago. The identity verification process will prevent a new chaos.

The Twitter (X) logo has changed again! Here’s the new version

Elon Musk, who changed both the name and logo of Twitter, has now once again altered the platform's logo. Here are the details!

According to the information shared, the credential upload service will be run by Israel-based Au10tix. The platform will process Twitter users’ information and store their IDs and selfies for 30 days.

In addition to their official IDs such as driver’s license or passport, users are also asked to send a selfie taken from the X app. The identity verification process should take 5 minutes to complete. If this time is exceeded, it will be mandatory to upload the photos again.

Earlier, Elon Musk updated his profile to “ID Verified”. He also hinted at the upcoming changes by joking that his account has been “verified since 3000 BC”. With this move, Musk wants to avoid confusion caused by the blue tick.
